Joining a team of talented conservation and restoration specialists, you’ll care for and restore furniture to the highest standard.

Based at our on-site workshop, you’ll take on in-depth remedial conservation treatments, employing a range of techniques. You’ll carefully balance multiple projects, ensuring that the working collection can continue to be used and appreciated by future generations.

Everyday your expertise will be relied upon. You’ll survey and evaluate the condition of furniture, working with the Workshop Manager to prioritise restorations.

And because your projects will align with events and ceremonies, you’ll have a particular focus on furniture finishes, and you’ll carefully record all your handlings for future reference.

Working closely with colleagues across the Household, you’ll provide practical guidance on how to handle the furniture you care for. And for every event you’ll take pride in ensuring that all furniture is presented to its best.

Building relationships with specialists across the Departments, you’ll work together to develop meaningful conservation strategies for future works.

This role involves working at height, as well as regularly lifting furnishings correctly.
