James Broughton – Alexander George Fine Furniture Ltd

James Broughton – Alexander George Fine Antique Furniture Ltd

With over thirty five years’ experience, Jim Broughton provides a complete restoration and conservation service to private collectors, country houses and antique dealers. Jim specialises in Walnut, Kingwood and Olive wood case furniture and clock cases from the last quarter of the 17th and first quarter of the 18th centuries but works with all woods from all periods.

Jim had the privilege to be involved in an in depth research program looking into the “Origins of Early English Veneered Furniture”, which took him to many of the finest stately homes, palaces and museums, both here and abroad. The research was published in the “Furniture History Society” journal in the autumn of 2014. As well as the restoration/conservation service, Jim’s company – Alexander George Antiques – offers select pieces of fine antique furniture for sale which are sourced, researched and conserved by Jim and his team of highly experienced Restorers and Conservators. If you wish to view our collection or discuss a conservation/restoration project, please telephone to make an appointment. All enquiries are welcomed.
