Allen Conservation and Restoration Ltd specialise in the conservation and restoration of fine Antique Furniture and Artefacts.

Established for over 30 years, we offer a comprehensive service across the North of England for all aspects involved in the care of furniture, be it Antique, Vintage or Contemporary.

Utilising traditional methods of application combined with materials suited to age, we maintain the integrity of the subject piece, thus enabling your treasured possessions to have a well cared for appearance whilst ensuring longevity for future generations to enjoy.

We are also highly skilled at employing traditional skills to make bespoke furniture to meet the customer’s individual taste and requirements.

Allen conservation and restoration is a family run business that has been established over 30 years. We offer a full Restoration and Conservation service to all aspects of both Antique furniture and Artefacts.

Situated on a wharf of the Marple to Macclesfield Canal our workshop is a converted rope works originally manufacturing ropes for the canal system.

Located in New Mills, High Peak we are on the edge of the Peak District National Park and offer our services across the North West area, typically working in south Manchester, Cheshire and Derbyshire.

We have been providing a service to private customers, the Antique Trade, Museums and Galleries and private collections for over 3 decades. We are long standing members of BAFRA (British Antique Furniture Restorers Association), The Museum and Galleries Commission and the Institute for Conservation.

We specialise in traditional restoration, finishing and upholstery techniques and have a profound knowledge of traditional methods and materials applied to the conservation and restoration of Antiques.

Wherever possible, only materials originally appertaining to the initial conception and age to the piece are used, utilizing our stock of period timber, veneers and original fixtures and fitting.

Upon contact with us, we will arrange a visit at a mutually convenient time. We will assess your item and recommend a plan of action needed to remedy the situation. If required a written report and quotation will be forwarded on to you within the next couple of days.

All items in our possession, either in transit or in the workshop, are fully insured within our Fine Arts Insurance cover.
