Robert Tandy

Rob Tandy initially set up the workshop. He has over 25 years’ experience of the antique and restoration trade.

In 2003 they moved into a converted barn located on the outskirts of Kenn, a small village close to Clevedon and the Bristol Channel. Situated within five minutes of Junction 20 of the M5, they are conveniently located to service Bristol, Bath, Backwell, Chew Magna, Clevedon, Clifton, Congresbury, Churchill, Nailsea, Portishead, Wrington, Somerset, North Somerset, Wiltshire, Cotswolds and South West.

Customers include the antiques trade, interior designers, churches and historic buildings, insurance companies and private clients.

Rob graduated with a BA (Hons) in History of Art and entered the antiques trade in 1985 as a trainee auctioneer. He diversified into buying and restoring antiques, setting up the workshop in 1987. Having had a life-long interest in woodwork, he spent the next fifteen years acquiring a wide range of restoration techniques. With a strong interest in art history and architecture, he enjoys combining research with hands-on practical skills. Rob became an accredited member of the British Antique Furniture Restorers’ Association (BAFRA) in 1994.
