How do you choose a Restorer or Conservator?

Choosing the right restorer or conservator is an important decision. The wrong choice could result in permanent damage to your furniture, affecting both its value and appearance. Poor or inexperienced workmanship, or excess restoration can be irreversible, so it is essential to choose with care.

Tim has been restoring period furniture for more than 30 years. He specialises in 17th, 18th and 19th century English and European furniture. Tim is a fully accredited member of BAFRA. (The British Antique Furniture Restorers' Association), which has a select membership of about 130 members throughout the country. BAFRA members are chosen for their expertise, knowledge and high standard of craftsmanship.

Tim's modern, fully insulated and temperature-controlled workshop is a reflection of his attitude to his work and standards of craftsmanship. Tim prides himself on his professionalism, precision, planning and exacting eye to detail. Tim's workshop is fully insured.

All Tim's repairs are carried out to the highest standards using traditional methods and materials.

Tim has an extensive supply of period veneers, timbers and fittings built up over 30 years to aid him in his repairs.
