by BAFRA

It’s breathing new life into historical surroundings.

It’s being encouraged to gain new skills. And it’s the satisfaction of caring for irreplaceable interiors. This is what makes a role with the Royal Household so different.

Our Craft and Conservation team provide essential support services to maintain the interior furniture and furnishing of the Royal Palaces. The range of rooms and their contents is truly diverse. Principally based at Buckingham Palace, you’ll provide a wide variety of on-site technical support and practical conservation-restoration services for interior furniture and furnishings across the Royal Palaces.

Key responsibilities:

  • You’ll use your expertise to monitor and evaluate the condition of items, prioritise works and identify conservation needs.
  • You’ll perform a range of restorative repairs and treatments to ensure items remain in daily use.
  • With multiple conservation projects within your portfolio, including in-situ and workshop treatments, you’ll prioritise your time to meet deadlines.
  • You’ll work with others to oversee the handling, movement, installation, and cleaning of items, as well as advising on item care during functions and events.

The variety of your role will stretch you. And  as you expand your conservation skills, you’ll be inspired to achieve exceptional results.
